Overview

Purpose of the Role 

The bank reconciliation clerk will have shared responsibility for the daily reconciliation of all of the Firms operational client and office accounts to ensure compliance with the UK and overseas offices regulatory requirements.

Duties 

The following list of duties is not exhaustive but gives a flavour of the duties the Bank Reconciliation Clerk undertakes:

  • Reconcile all operational client and office accounts on a daily basis and report any discrepancies to Cashiers/Accounts Payable team and ensure these are dealt with in line with the Firms policies and procedures
  • Additional accounts to reconcile on a monthly basis with monthly reports being produced for Cashiers Manager
  • Monthly information packs to collate for all International offices
  • Monthly bank charges, interest and currency nominal’s to check and balance
  • Assist Cashiers team with reviewing joint account and designated activity, and monitor release of funds
  • Assist with keeping bank mandates up to date and completion of other banking documentation
  • Maintain statement records, ensuring that they are received, and filed electronically in a timely manner
  • Ensure bank statements meet the requirements of SRA Accounts Rules, and any overseas equivalent
  • Preparation, and upload of bank reconciliation, and statement data to HighQ for UK and overseas audit
  • Other admin tasks such as, Cashiers request acknowledgments, bulk disbursement uploads, and recharge processes

Knowledge, skills and experience required (bespoke to role)

  • Previous experience of reconciliations working in a professional services environment preferable but not essential
  • Experience of working to deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail & numeracy skills
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to interrogate data
  • Good communication and customer service skills (with the ability to be assertive when necessary)
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as being a good team player
  • Good data input/IT skills, including use of Excel
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a challenging fast-paced environment
